The Edward L. Creamer Papers consist of one memoir titled "A Dogface in Alaska: Surveying and Surviving," with digital print copies of 190 photographs. The memoir details Creamer's experiences as topographic computer with the U. S. Army's 551st Engineer Company, 660th Battalion, 30th Engineer Group in the summer of 1954, when the company surveyed areas of southwestern Alaska near Platinum, Togiak, and Bethel. The photographs depict Creamer's voyage to Alaska aboard the U.S.S. President Jackson; the survey crew's camps at Platinum, Togiak, Bethel, Eek Lake, and Mosquito Point; a mining operation at Platinum; and scenes of Dillingham, a Dillingham fish cannery, and Whittier, Alaska.
